New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmaavat has been released today, The film was originally slated for release on December but It was cleared by the censor board with a few changes, but later banned by some state governments, including Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court later struck down the ban, and paved the way for its release today.
The movie is based on the legend of Rani Padmavati, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in ‘Padmavat,’ an Awadhi language epic poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. On the Other hand Karni Sena never expected the movie to be downright insulting to their so-called heritage and culture tried their best to ban the film and also instructed people not to watch the film. But now the public reviews are coming out and People are loving the film.
