New Delhi, 28 April 2022: The Exchange4Media organised the first edition of Top 50 Party Spokespersons Awards on 28th April in New Delhi, with the intention to acknowledge and felicitate political spokespersons in India, who bear the brunt of the activities of the political parties, anchors and the audience.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed and credible spokespersons including Anurag Bhadoria, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Charu Pragya, Shweta Shalini, Shazia Ilmi, Dr Anurag Batra, founder and chairman, Exchange4Media, Gajanan Mali, founder, parichowk.com among many others.

The political Spokesperson are the face of the party and bear the brunt of the audience, anchors and political bosses, standing in front of the party. However, their efforts remain unrecognised. This is the reason, Exchange4Media has conceived the TOP 50 Party Spokesperson Awards, stated Anurag Batra, Founder and Chairman, Exchange4Media.
The event began with a debate on the ‘Defending the Indefensible, taking a stand where there is none”. Shama Mohammad, Congress Spokesperson believed that being indefensible does not exist. There is always a stand and her perspective is to defend the party.
While Jyotsna Tirunagari, TDP spokesperson sternly maintained that a spokesperson should be convincing and not compelling.
The spokespersons also discussed the lack of content and more noise in news channel debates. Shweta Shalini, BJP Spokesperson believed that a spokesperson is an amplifier, they amplify the thought process of the party.
Including that the quality of spokespersons had deteriorated with the increased number of news channels. Inexperienced spokespersons have paved their way in politics with decreased bandwidth of spokespersons, argued the panel.

While the spokespersons were asked about whom they look upto, Sudhanshu Trivedi, BJP Spokesperson and Nalin Kohli, BJP Spokesperson were the common names they talked about.
The spokespersons unanimously stated that Hindu-Muslim debates and communal riots are the most boring and exhausted topic for debates that they do not look forward to. Instead the news channels should focus on more productive and urgent issues such as Inflation, Petrol Price Hikes and many others.
Towards the end of the event, the rankings of the spokespersons were revealed with BJP Spokesperson Shudhanshu Trivedi at the first position, followed by, Sambit Patra, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Gaurav Bhatia, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Raghav Chadha, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Syed Zafar Islam, Shazia Ilmi, Anurag Bhadouria in the TOP 10.
Shri Uday Mahurkar , Information Commissioner of the Government of India was the chief guest who presented the awards . to the political influencers .
