Party workers celebrate as Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi arrives at his residence!

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi has been elected the Congress president. 89 nominations were received by the party and all were found to be valid. All 89 nominations named Rahul Gandhi as candidate, according to the party. He succeeds his mother, Sonia Gandhi who led the Congress party to power against expectations in the year 2004.

On Tuesday, Congress Party Workers Celebrated as president-elect Rahul Gandhi arrived at his residence 12, Tughlak Road in Delhi. Sonia Gandhi was also seen outside for awaiting party president-elect Rahul Gandhi’s arrival.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi addressed his first press conference as Congress president, after being elected unopposed to the post on Monday, in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, last day of campaigning for the second and final phase of Gujarat Assembly elections. He said the party was confident of winning the polls.
