Patra Chawl Redevelopment Case: ED arrests Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut after 9-hour home search

New Delhi, (01/08/22): In connection with a case involving a land fraud, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut in Mumbai on Sunday night. He will appear in court today at 11:30.

After conducting raids at his home, the agency took this action shortly after. From his property, the agency has retrieved Rs 11.5 lakh.

According to the sources, Raut’s brother claimed during his detention that the 10 lakh rupees taken from his home belonged to chief minister Eknath Shinde.

The ED called Raut to testify in a money laundering case involving allegations of irregularities in the redevelopment of a Mumbai “chawl” and associated transactions involving his wife and “associates.”
