Delhi, Sept 24th, 2022: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday claimed that the Popular Front of India(PFI) had planned to launch an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he was in Bihar earlier this year on 12th July.

The PFI is an Indian Islamist political organization, that was formed to counter Hindutva groups and aims at Muslim political mobilization.

PFI members over the years have been arrested for allegedly supporting and creating terrorist activities in the country.

Quite recently the group was in the light as they staged protests and ‘hartals’ in Kerala since the National Investigation Agency(NIA) conducted nationwide raids against them.

In its claim, the ED also said that PFI had launched a training camp to prepare for the attack on PM Modi while he was in Patna.

ED has also found details of Rs. 120 crores collected by the organization over the years, mostly in cash and meant for creating riots and terrorist activities across the country.

Notably, PM Modi had a close call in Patna in October 2013 when jihadi terrorists belonging to Indian Mujahideen, which, just like PFI, has in its ranks members of the outlawed Students’ Islamic Movement in India, bombed a rally he was scheduled to address in a couple of hours.
