Plastic egg menace makes rounds in silicon city of #Karnataka

Bengaluru: After plastic rice and sugar scare in Delhi, now Bengaluru city is under the grip of fake, plastic eggs. A Facebook post by a Whitefield resident has sent shock waves among the egg lovers.

On Monday, a Whitefield resident Susy William on her Facebook page posted that she has found plastic eggs in the tray that she picked from a store.

“Anybody encountered plastic eggs? We picked an entire tray of country eggs from a small store and almost all of them seemed to be plastic. Feel so angry at the adulteration happening. Anyone has contacts of people to approach to get things done against this? Used to give my toddler egg thinking it’s good for him,” she posted.

Within few seconds, her post has become viral. Several local residents also informed that they also faced such problem in recent days. Another resident Nishan Desai informed that he also faced same problem in his apartment. “We apartment residents raised it up with our local shopkeeper who took it up with his wholeseller. Apparently numerous complaints had come from many other restaurants and residents to whom this wholeseller sold. The stock came from Coimbatore and they stopped procuring from there,” he informed.

Meanwhile, BBMP health officials informed that they will look into the issue at the earliest.
