New Delhi (India), April 15, 2023: Satya Pal Malik, the former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, has made explosive claims in a recent interview, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no real problem with corruption.
Malik, who was governor during the Pulwama terrorist attack and the scrapping of Article 370, also accused the Prime Minister of being “ignorant” and “ill-informed” about Kashmir. He claimed that he had brought instances of corruption to Modi’s attention, but the PM did not seem to care.
Malik went on to reveal that the lapses by the Indian system, specifically the CRPF and the home ministry, led to the devastating terrorist attack on soldiers in Pulwama in February 2019.
He said the lapses were raised by him directly when Modi called him from outside Corbett Park shortly after the attack. Malik alleged that the intention was to put the blame on Pakistan and derive electoral benefits for the government and the BJP.
Malik also discussed in detail why he did not let Mehbooba Mufti form a new government, accusing her of lying and revealing that the parties whose support she was claiming were separately telling him to dissolve the assembly.
Additionally, he claimed that the appointments granted by President Droupadi Murmu are vetted by the PMO and that an appointment he had been given by the president was canceled at the last moment.
The explosive interview is likely to cause political earthquakes in the Modi government and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
