PM Modi Interacts with ‘Lakhpati Didis’ on International Women’s Day, Disburses ₹450 Crore to SHGs

Gujarat (08 March 2025): On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme in Gujarat’s Navsari district. During the event, he disbursed financial assistance of ₹450 crore to over 2.5 lakh women associated with more than 25,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the country.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi highlighted the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through financial independence. The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative aims to uplift rural women by encouraging entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. The beneficiaries shared their success stories and expressed gratitude for the scheme’s role in transforming their lives. The event marked a significant step toward strengthening women-led development in India.
