India was put on a 21-day lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus. The announcement of complete nationwide lockdown was made by PM Modi on March 24.
PM Modi is highly expected to announce the extension of the lockdown in his address for two more weeks as most of the states are still on the upward trajectory of Coronavirus cases.
This address is going to be the 4th address of PM Modi to the nation within a span of a month. While some are appreciating the leadership that he has offered in a time of severe crisis, others are raising questions over why the BJP ruled states have been waiting for the PM Modi’s announcement and why they themselves haven’t announced a lockdown much like their non-BJP counterparts in Maharashtra, Punjab and Orissa.
