Political Parties should accept election results gracefully rather than calling EVMs defective or manipulated. Shocks have been given by the exit polls where those taken too high got most hurt on fall.

We should have the courage to call a spade a spade and gracefully accept the results of the elections held in five states. Rather than crying over the spilt milk and blaming others they should try to take measures so that it does not happen again. The best is that the Exit Polls should be banned.
Elections are held by the Election Commission with the help of Govt. machinery where the parties to hold election are framed without any partiality. They are trained how to handle EVMs and hold elections and in the process ensure that the EVMs function properly. Moreover the representatives of each party are also allowed to be present while the voting goes on. As such it is ridiculous to blame EVMs for defeat rather than analyzing as to what went wrong with the voters who voted against them or how the votes got distributed between different candidates. It is all the more amusing to listen that whosoever candidates button was pressed the vote went to BJP candidate. How have other candidates got votes specially where the candidates of other parties have also won and the margin of victory is not much.
Inspite of the fact that no such incidents have been reported by the election parties and the head of the Election Commission has confirmed that no such incidents have taken place, raising such issues again and again by senior leaders of different parties speaks of their faith in democracy which let them down in the elections. The elections were carried out under strict security by the police and paramilitary forces and no one is allowed to interfere in the election process.
The constitution of India has so nicely being framed that it constitutes independent bodies for different functions and election commission is one of such bodies which had been conducting fair and free elections right from its inception. We must respect such institutions rather than blaming them for not carrying out their duties properly. In democracy we always respect the outcome of elections and accept those gracefully.
