New Delhi (India), 8th April 2023: In her most recent Instagram post, actor Preity Zinta discussed two recent instances of harassment. In a stern statement, the actress said, “2 events this week have left me a bit shaken.” The actress criticised the mother for forcefully kissing her infant daughter while taking images of her.
The actress described the second incident in which a man in a wheelchair repeatedly tried to stop her and demanded money from her. She also called out the paparazzo in her tweet, who had recorded the situation.
Preity Zinta wrote about the first incident, “1 regarding my daughter Gia, where a woman tried to snap her picture. When we requested her gently not to, she initially moved away before suddenly grabbing my daughter in her arms, planting a large wet kiss near to her mouth, and running off while exclaiming, “What a cute baby.”
This mother, who resides in a posh condominium, just so happened to be playing with my kids in the backyard. I probably would have reacted badly if I hadn’t been a famous person, but I refrained because I didn’t want to cause a scene.
She said, please leave her kids alone. Don’t approach them for photos, and don’t grab or touch them because they are not intended to be taken advantage of. They should be treated like infants, not like celebrities, because they are. She said, “ They are not a package deal.”
The actress added in her statement that she would also like to point out the paparazzi who were laughing throughout the incident. She said, “I sincerely hope that the photographers that ask us for photos, videos and sound bytes also have the grace, humanity and maturity to act and help in the future instead of filming and laughing cuz most of the time it’s not funny.”
