PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES MEDAL WINNERS IN INCHEON ASIAN GAMES – 2014

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated medal winners in Asian Games 2014. These include Ms. Priyanka Pawar, Ms. Tintu Lukka, Ms. Mandeep Kaur and Ms. M.R. Poovamma for winningthe Gold Medal in the Women’s 4 x 400m Relay team event; Shri Sardar Singh, Captain and all members of the Indian Hockey Team for winning the Gold Medal, Ms. Tejeswini Bai, Captain and all members of her Team for winning the Gold Medal in Women’s Kabaddi; Shri Rakesh Kumar, Captain and all member of his team for winning the Gold Medal in Men’s Kabaddi; Shri Satish Kumar for winning a Bronze Medal in the Men’s Super Heavy (+ 91kg) in Boxing, Shri Vikas Krishan for winninga Bronze Medal in the Men’s Middle (75 kg) Boxing and Shri Inderjeet Singh for winning a Bronze Medal in the Men’s shot put.

In his message to the Captain of Indian Men’s Hockey Team, Captain of Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team and Captain of Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team the President said, “This has become possible only on account of the hard work and determination displayed by the team. The nation is proud of this achievement”.

In his individual messages to the other winners, the President said, “This is a great achievement and you have done India proud”.
