President Murmu to deliver her maiden address to the nation on the eve of 75th Independence

Delhi, August 14th,2022: Newly-elected President of India Droupadi Murmu is all set to deliver her maiden address to the country on the eve of August 15th, marking 75 years of Indian independence.

The president’s address will be broadcasted from 7 PM on Sunday on the entire national network of All India Radio (AIR) and will be telecasted on all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by the English version.

“After the telecast of the address in Hindi and English on Doordarshan, it will be telecasted by its regional channels in the respective regional languages. All India Radio will telecast it in the regional language on its respective regional network at 9.30 pm”, the statement said.

Murmu is the second female President of India after Pratibha Patil in 2007. She hails from the Santhal tribe of Odisha and is the 15th president of the country.

This will be her first address to the country after assuming office on July 25th. Special preparations are ongoing in all parts of the country for the upcoming 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence.
