Press statement issued by BJP National Secretary, Shri Sidharth Nath Singh On behalf of Bengal BJP unit, we are honoured that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has selected Kolkata to launch the two universal socialsecurity schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna. Also being launched on the same day is Atal Pension Yojna assuring monthly pension of Rs 1000 up to Rs 5000 per month after the age of 60 years . The insurance schemes are for every citizen of India, however the way the schemes are designed will surely bring insurance to those who could not get insured, the poor deprived Indians. Under PMSBY by paying just Rs 1/month an insurer can avail accident insurance worth Rs 2 lakhs. Similarly under PMJJBY by paying Rs 330/annum one can get life insurance worth Rs 2 lakhs.
A section of media and opposition members are speculating that there is a new bonhomie between BJP and TMC? Unfortunately their focus is not on the immense benefit that the socially deprived crores of Indians will get but in political masala. We would rather leave this wild speculation to their respective wisdoms but for BJP it is important that we are serving the people of India to whom we are committed. Political battles will and ought to be fought with TMC but welfare of the people cannot be traded for political calculations. This is the new political path set out by our Prime Minister NarendreModi.
However those who for narrow political gains are being obstructionists in Parliament need to answer few questions as they have a habit of shedding crocodile tears for the poor of this country? Not to forget that they have been in government either at the Center or in the States:
1. Why India had to wait for 51 years for Sh Atal Behari Vajpayee’s government to provide rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Grammin Sadak Yojna ?
2. Why India had to wait for 67 years for Sh Modi’s government to open bank accounts for the poor under Jan Dhan Yojna?
3. Why India had to wait for Prime Minister Modi – 68 years to provide universal social security to Indians particularly keeping the farmers and poor in mind?
4. Why the unfunded Indians had to wait for Sh Modi to get funded under Mudra Yojna?
These are straight questions to those claiming patents on Suit -Boot, Ma -Matti -Manush , Karl Marx and Samajwadh. Certainly their claims for welfare of poor farmers and laborers have been only for headlines like Garibi Hatoa – while missing the substance with delivery. Moreover under Jan Dhan Yojna, 12 crore Indians have opened their bank accounts and no more have to depend on Chit Fund firms born during CPIM rule and grown under TMC tenure .
We are equally happy that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be inaugurating the steel plant at Burnpur, West Bengal on 10th May which will create employment to the youths of Bengal, something which was unheard during the CPIM rule and continues under TMC tenure. The underlying message of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit is to provide universal social security network particularly for the underprivileged and employment generation for the youths because BJP and their government believes in “”Saab ka Saath Saab ka Vikas and “Cooperative Federalism”.
