Prime Minister expresses deep grief as Jain seer Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj attains Samadhi

New Delhi (18/02/2024): The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi expressed deep grief as Jain seer Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj attains Samadhi.

Modi said that the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj is an irreparable loss for the country.

The Prime Minister also said that Acharya Ji’s valuable efforts for spiritual awakening among the people will always be remembered. Throughout his life he remained engaged in poverty alleviation as well as promoting health and education in the society, Modi further added.

The Prime Minister also recalled his meeting with Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj last year at Chandragiri Jain Temple in Chhattisgarh and said that the meeting will be unforgettable for him.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

“आचार्य श्री 108 विद्यासागर जी महाराज जी का ब्रह्मलीन होना देश के लिए एक अपूरणीय क्षति है। लोगों में आध्यात्मिक जागृति के लिए उनके बहुमूल्य प्रयास सदैव स्मरण किए जाएंगे। वे जीवनपर्यंत गरीबी उन्मूलन के साथ-साथ समाज में स्वास्थ्य और शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देने में जुटे रहे। यह मेरा सौभाग्य है कि मुझे निरंतर उनका आशीर्वाद मिलता रहा। पिछले वर्ष छत्तीसगढ़ के चंद्रगिरी जैन मंदिर में उनसे हुई भेंट मेरे लिए अविस्मरणीय रहेगी। तब आचार्य जी से मुझे भरपूर स्नेह और आशीष प्राप्त हुआ था। समाज के लिए उनका अप्रतिम योगदान देश की हर पीढ़ी को प्रेरित करता रहेगा।”
