New Delhi: Disappointed with the move of privatising Regional Rural Banks members of the United Forum of Regional Rural Banks Union (UFRRBU) held a protest at Parliament street today.
Under the banner of UFRRBU, officers and employees of Regional Rural Banks staged a protest at the Parliament street opposing Privatization of Regional Rural Banks, parity of Service regulation, PF and Pension and Compassionate appointment Scheme on par with Commercial Bank.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at parliament street and raised slogans against the government and its move.
While addressing the event, convener of the UFRRBU, DN Trivedi said that this move will affect on the rural economy. If rural banks privatized, then they will only think to make profits not helping rural and farmers.”
“Moreover, parity of Service regulation, PF and Pension and appointment on Compassionate ground Scheme on par with commercial banks are some major challenges the rural banks is facing and it needs to address,” he address.
A deleqation of UFRRBU will also meet with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely at 12.30 pm in his office in parliament and to submit a memorandum.
