Mumbai (India), 9th May 2023: Actor Priyanka Chopra stated in a recent that she had collapsed during the recent New York premiere of her film ‘Love Again’, however, much to her relief the incident didn’t get photographed.
Priyanka stated in a new interview that she fell “all the way to my buttocks.” The star was also surprised when the paparazzi laid down their cameras instead of photographing her.
She also mentioned how her husband, musician Nick Jonas,’swooped in’ to assist her.
Priyanka and Nick attended the premiere of ‘Love Again’ last week. Nick makes a cameo appearance in the film alongside Priyanka and Sam Heughan.
Priyanka donned a light blue gown with a pouffy skirt and a large bow on her back for the occasion. She wore a modest necklace, high heels and wore her hair straight. Sam chose an all-black suit while Nick donned a grey one.
During an interview with ABC’s The View, Priyanka said, “I haven’t talked about this because I try and look for this thing every day on social media. But, I was wearing really high heels in this dress for it to look as tall as it did and you know, the red carpet is full of press people, everyone is clicking pictures, fans. And, I fell on the carpet, on my shoes, I fell down all the way to my butt.”
Expressing her astonishment she added, “I have never seen this happen in my 23-year career, everyone put their cameras down and they said, ‘Don’t worry about it Pri, take your time’.”
She further stated that, “I was mortified for a second, but when I saw people do that, they said, ‘You’re always so nice, we got this’, till I stood up. And till now, there is no clip of me falling. How nice! I had help from five people. My husband swooped in.”
Priyanka mentioned the incident as commonly, the paparazzi would have loved to click any celebrity’s picture in such a vulnerable situation and then the embarrassing images would’ve circulated the internet.
However, this wasn’t the case and the press, media and the fans displayed exceptional kindness for Priyanka during this incident.
Priyanka plays a character of a woman in ‘Love Again’ who gives love another shot after losing her partner. Celine Dion appears in the film alongside Priyanka, Nick, and Sam. Jim Strouse directed it, while Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Esther Hornstein have produced the movie.
