Punjab BJP revamps structure, ex-CM Amarinder appointment vice-president of state unit

New Delhi, Dec 4, 2022: On Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) revamped its Punjab unit on Saturday by unveiling its 11 vice-presidents, five general secretaries, and 11 secretaries, giving roles to most of the Congress turncoats.

The list released by Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma consists of the names of former Congress minister Raj Kumar Verka and former Congress MLAs Kewal Singh Dhillon, Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa, and Arvind Khanna as vice-presidents.

Former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s daughter, Jai Inder Kaur, has also been revealed as a vice-president of the state BJP unit, while Subhash Sharma, Rakesh Rathour, Dyal Singh Sodhi, Lakhwinder Kaur Garcha, Jagmohan Singh Raju, and Jagdeep Singh Nakai are VPs from the old BJP.

Former Congress minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar is among five new BJP general secretaries. The others include Jiwan Gupta, Rajesh Bagha, Bikramjeet Singh Cheema, and Mona Jaiswal. Moga’s former Congress MLA Dr Harjot Kamal Singh is among the 11 state BJP secretaries. The others are Anil Sachar, Rajesh Honey, Parminder Singh Brar, Sunita Garg, Jasmeen Sandhawalia, Jasraj Singh Longia, Shivraj Chaudhary,
Sukhwinder Kaur Naulakha, Sanjeev Khanna, and Daaman Thind Bajwa.
