Rahul Gandhi Appreciates Mother Sonia Gandhi’s Grace Under Pressure After Emergency Landing

New Delhi, July 19, 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his admiration for his 76-year-old mother Sonia Gandhi a day after their chartered aircraft made an emergency landing in Bhopal while en route from Bengaluru to Delhi.

In an Instagram post, Rahul Gandhi shared a picture of Sonia Gandhi wearing an oxygen mask and praised her as the “epitome of grace under pressure.” The post quickly garnered over 180,000 likes within the first hour.

According to reports, the New Delhi-bound chartered plane carrying the Gandhis landed at the Bhopal airport on Tuesday evening. Airport director Ramji Awasthi clarified that it was a priority landing and not an emergency landing.

A Congress leader stated that a technical glitch prompted the unscheduled touchdown. Shoba Oza, a senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Women’s Commission chairperson, confirmed that the emergency landing was due to a technical snag.

Upon receiving information about the incident, senior Congress leaders, including Shoba Oza, Suresh Pachori, and MLAs PC Sharma, Arif Masood, and Kunal Choudhary, rushed to the airport to meet the Gandhis in the lounge and inquire about their well-being.

Earlier in the day, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi had attended a significant meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru. After the emergency landing, the Gandhis departed for New Delhi on an IndiGo flight at around 9:30 pm.

The incident highlighted Sonia Gandhi’s composure and resilience in the face of adversity, drawing praise from her son Rahul Gandhi and garnering significant attention on social media.
