New Delhi, August 19, 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi embarked on a bike expedition to Pangong Lake in Ladakh to mark the upcoming birthday of his father and former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, on August 20. The journey showcased Gandhi’s adventurous spirit as he rode a KTM 390 Adventure bike through the mesmerizing landscapes of Ladakh.

Rahul Gandhi’s Instagram posts unveiled his thrilling expedition, with him donning complete biking gear, including a helmet, gloves, riding boots, and a jacket. His Instagram caption, “On our way to Pangong lake, which my father used to say, is one of the most beautiful places in the world,” reflected his emotional connection to the journey.

The KTM 390 Adventure, a robust 373 cc bike capable of generating 32 kW of maximum power and 37 Nm of peak torque, escorted Gandhi through the picturesque region at a top speed of approximately 155 kmph.

Taking his excitement to Twitter, Gandhi shared a few glimpses from his ride, stating, “Upwards and onwards – Unstoppable!”

Gandhi had previously disclosed his ownership of a “KTM 390” bike, though his security protocols prevented him from using it freely. In a YouTube video, he engaged with “super mechanics” at Delhi’s Karol Bagh market, delving into the nuances of bike servicing. He humorously shared, “I have a KTM 390, but it’s lying unused because my security people don’t let me use it.”

Rahul Gandhi’s Ladakh journey is scheduled to extend till August 25, demonstrating his dedication to exploring diverse regions and engaging with local communities. Earlier this month, he was seen partaking in a traditional dance with the Toda tribal community near Ooty, Tamil Nadu, emphasizing his commitment to experiencing the richness of India’s cultural tapestry.

With his adventurous bike ride through Ladakh’s breathtaking terrain, Rahul Gandhi celebrates not only his father’s legacy but also his own spirit of exploration and connection with the nation’s diverse landscapes and communities.
