Rajasthan Minister suspects ‘conspiracy’ behind demolition drive against Pak Hindu residents

Jaipur, 19th May 2023: Facing backlash over the demolition of ‘encroachments’ of the temporary settlements for the Hindu residents displaced from Pakistan.

Rajasthan Minister Pratap Khachariyawas on Thursday said that the officials will be taken to task who is ‘trying to malign the state government.’ He further added that the entire action is a ‘conspiracy’ to malign the government officials.

Officials would be taking action against these people; they have to answer, he emphasised. The Rajasthan government authorities said, ‘you can’t evict anyone without them being rehabilitated…This is a very serious matter. This is a conspiracy; such officials who try to malign the Govt will be taken to task.’

On Tuesday, the local authorities demolished the temporary settlements of the Hindus displaced from Pakistan who were residing in the Amarsagar gram panchayat area, 4km away from the district headquarters.
