RAJNATH SINGH HOME MINSTER LAUNCHES – DELHI #POLICE WEB APPLICATION FOR POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES

A complaint from a victim (name withheld)was received at Cyber Crime Cell ,EOW, Delhi alleging therein that she was a divorcee and had created a profile on matrimonial website jeevansaathi.com for re-marriage. One Varun pal having his profile on the same website approached her in this regard and started interacting with her as a probable match. Within no time he became a close friend and started chatting with her in quite a frank and intimate manner. Subsequently, on the pretext of some business loss he asked her for some financial help and started taking money from her. The complainant paid a total sum of Rs6 Lacs in multiple installments in good faith, as the alleged was already going to marry her. On the said complaint, a Case vide FIR No. 70/14,dated 17.07.2014, PS-EOW was registered in this regard and investigationstaken up.

A team under the supervision of ACP, Cyber Cell, Shri H.S.P. Singh was formed including Insp (Tech) Vijay Gahlawat, SI Anil Malik, I.O of the case SI Arvind Kumar and Ct. Rahul No. 1268/Cr. Records of the alleged mobile number of the accused were obtained from Vodafone. Registrant and user IP logs of his profiles on matrimonial website and the registrant email ID were procured from concerned service providers.Having a fair idea of the whereabouts of the suspect, local sources were developed.  Through pain staking and sustained efforts, the whereabouts of the accused person was traced to Trans Yamuna area, Delhi. A trap was laid and the accused was arrested when he was about to receive money from one of his latest victims in Rohini, Delhi.
