#Ramjasviolence: Gurmehar Kaur withdraws from her campaign

New Delhi, Feb 28: Being trolled for having begun an online campaign against the alleged violence by the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a dejected Gurmehar Kaur, the daughter of Kargil martyr Captain Mandeep Singh, on Tuesday withdrew from the campaign for free speech and said she has had enough. In a tweet early on Tuesday morning, Kaur said, “I’m withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I request to be left alone. I said what I had to say. I have been through a lot and this is all my 20 year self could take :).”
Even though she won’t be part of the silent protest march organised by the students bodies of the Delhi University, Kaur has appealed to people to join the march on Wednesday. “The campaign is about students and not about me. Please go to the March in huge numbers. Best of luck. To anyone questioning my courage and bravery.. I’ve shown more than enough,” she added.
Kaur said, “One thing is for sure, next time we will think twice before resorting to violence or threats and that’s all this was about.”
