New Delhi : Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh organised a national convention on RCEP free trade agreement yesterday in New Delhi. Farmer leaders from 15 states, General Manager of Amul Jayan Mehta & intellectuals from various field participated in this convention. Effigy of Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal was also beaten with shoes at Jantar Mantar in form of Symbolic protest against RCEP agreement.



The following decisions were taken by Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh-

1). Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will give memorandum on the name of Prime Minister to district collector offices in all districts demanding Rejection of RCEP Free trade agreement on 18th october.

2). On November 2, “road roko” demonstrations will be held across the country for 3 hours by Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh.

3). From October 18, all the farmers across the country will wear black strips to oppose RCEP.

4). Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will sent letter to all MP & Chief Ministers demanding Rejection of RCEP.

5). If the govt will not withdraw from RCEP agreement then Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will start “Gaon band” movement stopping supplies of Milk, fruits, vegetables, Date of “Gaon Band” movement will be declared in next meeting of RKM.

While in a conversation with Ten News, Convenor of Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh Shiv Kumar Kakka from Madhya Praddsh said that this RCEP free trade agreement will massively damage farmer community of our nation. He further said that that if government removes import duty from agriculture & dairy products then no consumer will purcahse products of our farmers. He further said that we can not compare Indian Farmers with Foreign farners because of 2 reasons –

1). On one hand, Indian farmers are not getting MSP & on the other hand foreign farmers are getting massive amount of subsidies.

2). Land population ratio in India is different as compare to other countries.

Co-convenor of RKM Jagjeet singh dallewal from punjab said that if government will import milk from New Zeland under RCEP agreement then farmers will get 10 rupees less on every litre of milk, so farmers will be forced to leave dairy farming.
