New Delhi, (6/2/2019): A group of concerned citizens hailing from different fraternities came together to propose the 19 points agenda for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The group consists of Justice A.P. Shah, Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Bhardwaj, former IAS Harsh Mander, Yogendra Yadav, Syeda Hameed, Wajahat Habibullah etc.
The agenda booklet uncover the issues of Judicial Reforms, Electoral Reforms, Media Reforms, Employment, Food and Social Security, Health Reforms, Education, Agriculture and various other several highly concerned issues.
For the above issues their objectives and action points are mentioned, speaking to Ten News, Swaraj India chief, Yogendra Yadav said, we are in contact with several political parties including Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal and will soon schedule a meeting to discuss the derived agendas.
Justice A.P. Shah said, “the loyalty of the citizens towards the country is tested on different grounds”.
The group not only proposed the issues but also constructed a road map to combat these issues.
“The proposed policies and programmes are neither optional not affordable for an economy of our size. We have examined the financial costs involved in providing for such welfare measures and are of the opinion that additional costs involved can be mobilized with the help of small turnover tax, wealth tax and inheritance tax, besides doing away with many irrational corporate subsidies. A substantial part of this additional spending is likely to come back to the government as indirect tax revenue”, read the document.
