National News (03/10/2026): Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani has announced a major investment plan of ₹1 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh to establish compressed biogas (CBG) plants across the state. The proposed investment is expected to support the state’s clean-energy ecosystem while generating more than 3 lakh employment opportunities.

Ambani made the announcement on Friday while speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and Indian School of Agriculture in Madanapalle. He said the proposed Reliance projects could also contribute approximately ₹60,000 crore in revenue to the Andhra Pradesh government over the coming decades.

Focus on Technology-Driven Agriculture

Alongside the investment in the clean-energy sector, Ambani outlined Reliance’s plans to support the proposed agriculture institution through financial investment, digital technology, technical expertise and industry partnerships.

The institution is being envisioned as a bridge between agricultural education, modern technology and practical industry requirements. The initiative aims to equip students and farmers with knowledge and tools suited to the changing demands of modern agriculture.

AI, Drones and Robotics to Support Farmers

Ambani highlighted the potential use of emerging technologies in agriculture, including artificial intelligence-based pest prediction, drone-enabled crop monitoring, robotics and price intelligence.

These technologies could help farmers identify crop-related risks at an early stage, monitor fields more efficiently and make better-informed decisions related to production and markets.

Digital Training and Modern Farming Initiatives

Reliance also plans to promote village-level virtual training, Jio Krishi and high-tech animal husbandry as part of its broader agricultural technology initiatives.

The focus is on taking modern agricultural knowledge and digital tools closer to rural communities and encouraging younger generations to view agriculture as a technology-driven and modern career opportunity.

Anant Ambani Expresses Commitment to Andhra Pradesh

During the event, Anant Ambani also expressed his strong commitment to the state and addressed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, saying that he should be treated as a son of the state.

He expressed this sentiment in Telugu with the words, “Nannu Andhra biddaga bhavinchandi”, conveying his desire to be regarded as an Andhra son.

With the proposed ₹1 lakh crore investment, CBG infrastructure, employment generation and technology-led agriculture initiatives, Reliance’s plans could mark a significant expansion of its presence in Andhra Pradesh across clean energy and the agricultural ecosystem.
