Republic Day Celebrations at Faridabad

Republic day was celebrated with full fun and flavour at Sports Complex, Sector-12 Faridabad. The chief guest of the function was Ram Bilas Sharma, Minister of Education and Tourism Haryana. The chief guest hoisted the national tricolor and inspected the parade.  Earlier he paid tribute to the martryrs at the Shahid Smarak at Sector -12.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Sharma narrated the importance of the day. He underlined the sacrifices by the soldiers that fought for the freedom of the country. He said that after attaining the freedom, it was also necessary to have our own constitution. He informed the gathering that finalizing the form of constitution took three years to the constitution committee. He said that after our constitution was instituted, India was recognized as a sovereign state. It also allowed people to exercise social, religious, cultural and economic freedom. The minister said that getting a recognition of the country as an independent country in the world would have not been possible without the contribution of Swami Vivekanand, Mahatma Gandhi, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Iron man Sardar Vallab bhai Patel and former prime minister Shree Atal Bihari Bajpai. He also mentioned the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that there are so many schemes started in his leadership igniting the process of development in the country in all the areas.

The Minister for Education and Tourism said that the living standards of each common man has been uplifted after the current government assuming charge. He made a special mention of the ‘Swachh Haryana-Swachh Bharat’ initiative. He felt proud in mentioning that the sex ration of girls have rose to the highest level in the history of Haryana. Making a mention of ‘One Rank One Pension’ he underlined the initiative taken by the Modi Government for the betterment of the people in armed forces. In addition to the above he also made a specific mention of the Prime Minister Crop Insurance scheme, Start-up India, Stand- up India, Make in India, Skill India, Digital India and many other schemes started by the government for the betterment of the common man.

In his address, Ram Bilas Sharma also spoke good things about the Chief Minister Haryana Shree Manohar Lal Khattar. He said that connecting the state with the Prime Minister’s call of ‘Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas’, the chief minister has given a call for ‘Haryana Ek- Haryanvi Ek’. On the occasion he also announced a disbursal of Rs.5 lacs to the students participating in the celebrations. He said that this amount is to be used to disburse sweets, school bag, Bhagwatgita,  Uniform and stationery to all the students attending the celebrations. In view of the freezing weather, the minister announced that all schools to be kept close from 27th to 30th January. He also said that the schools not following the instructions would be taken to task by the concerned department.

Following the tradition, the minister honoured the freedom fighters, war widows, social workers doing exceptional work and other societies doing good social work. He  also awarded the winners of first three positions in march past, cultural programs and tableus. Under the scheme of Subhr Jyotsna, the minister honoured the winners.

Out of a dozen contingents marching on the occasion, the first prize went to Haryana Police Women while the men contingent of the same bagged the second prize. The third prize in the category went to contingent of NCC Army Seniors Boys, Government College.

Of the seven cultural programs the one presented by students of Holy Child School was adjudged the best while in the category of tablues, the award of the best went to Faridabad police.
