4 ASSAMESE GIRLS SAFELY ESCORTED BACK BY MY HOME INDIA
My Home India , which is working among the north east indian people in rest of India for the last ten years solving their problems on many issues viz, admission issues, job issues, health issues, discrimination in rest of India etc has repeatedly helped children from children homes to be united with their parents all over India for the last 2 years. In the last two years they have successfully united more than 750 such children with their parents. This has happened under the project named ” Sapno Se Apno Tak”. The project was started in July 2013 by the founder of My Home India Shri Sunil Deodhar when one of the activist of My Home India who was working under the Juvenile Justice Act came across two girls in the Umerkhedi Children’s Home (Dongri Home). They were there for some days and unable to explain in Hindi or English the whereabouts of their parents. When Sunil Deodhar got a chance to speak to them in their Khasi language he could trace their parents in Shillong and successfully reunite them. From then on started the search for more such North East Children.. A batch of 68 girls of Assam who were rescued from child labour were escorted by My Home India within a few days then. On further working with the children homes it was found that there are many such children who as runaways, child labours etc were languishing in various children homes all over India. Thus started the project “Sapno Se Apno Tak” to help tracing the parents of children and reuniting them. Sometimes exodus takes place from many districts of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal etc and they are found in such homes and their parents are traced. But due to distant places the parents cannot come and release their wards so My Home India helps escorting such children in groups under police escort to a Children Home in a city of their parent state and from there the children are released to their parents.
Today they have released 4 such girls from New Delhi homes viz Kilkari Children Home (2girls) Prayas Children Home(1 girl), Samskar Children Home (1 girl) who were languishing in these homes from 1 month to 2 years. All of these 4 girls belong to different districts of Assam. The children left for Gauhati by Dibrugarh Rajdhani at 1.55 pm today ie.26.01.2016 from New Delhi station and expected to reach Gauhati by tomorrow ie 27.01.2016.They have been escorted by 4 volunteers ,( 2 boys and 2 girls) of My Home India and all the arrangements of their food, tickets ,warm clothings have been taken care of my My Home India.Mr Sunil Deodhar who is the founder of My Home India was present to see them off .He stated that the children are most secure in their homes with their parents so all efforts are taken by the workers of My Home India. My Home India coordinators working in the Children Homes take the effort of understanding the clues acquired from the kids, trace their parents by enquiring with various police stations and networking with the volunteers of My Home India who are spread out pan India.Shri Sunil Deodhar has vowed to try and release most of the children from 600+ children homes all over India in the coming 5 years. On this Republic Day of India we wish him the best in this endeavour aptly named ‘SAPNO SE APNO TAK’
