Restrictions return in China as another COVID wave targets cities

China, Oct 28, 2022: Covid-19 outbreak has once again worried the neighborhood, as China recorded a third straight day of more than 1000 new Covid cases.

Chinese cities including Wuhan, Guangzhou and Xining are strengthening restrictions, once again sealing up buildings, and locking down districts to halt the rapid spread of the virus.

Wuhan, the place that recorded first Covid-19 outbreak in late 2019, reported around 20 to 25 new infections a day this week. As a result, local authorities ordered over 800,000 people to stay indoors until Oct 30.

In Beijing, the Universal Resort Theme Park was shut down temporarily on Wednesday after at least one visitor tested positive for the virus.
