Robbers thrash driver, flee with truck

Gurgaon: Four masked men allegedly escaped with a truck after waylaying it on Gurgaon-Farrukhnagar road late on Tuesday. The driver of the truck was tied up, thrashed and robbed of his money before the gang escaped with the vehicle. An FIR has been registered at Farrukhnagar police station.

 According to police, Mamchand, who belongs to Rajasthan, was returning to his state from Delhi after unloading a shipment of jetsam when four men in a white Scorpio accosted him. The men stopped his truck after overtaking it near a railway crossing in Farrukhnagar. The gang held the driver hostage in their car while one snatched the key and drove off in the truck towards Delhi. They thrashed him, took away his cellphone and Rs 11,000 before dumping him on NH-8.
