Mumbai, Feb. 27, 2017: The Results of RRB NTPC 2nd Stage CBT Exam 2016 are expected to be delayed by a month. Sources close to Railway Recruitment Board suggest that the exam results are expected to be delayed as the compilation of the answer keys would still take a while. Nearly 3 lakh candidates had written the 2nd Stage CBT for the RRB Non Technical Popular Category. Out of these 3 lakh candidates, about 81,000 candidates would be further short listed for the consecutive stages of recruitment across 9 categories of NTPC.

Sources when approached for tentative result dates suggested that the results might take longer than expected. Earlier reports had suggested that RRB NTPC 2nd Stage CBT Results would be declared by end of February. When approached about the expected declaration of the results, the official commented that the result would be further delayed as final computation is till on-going. Furthermore, the result has to be computed for all regional RRB’s and a merit list has to be created. Another reason for the time being taken is that for 4 categories the results would lead to document verification stage which would lead to final recruitment.

RRB NTPC was conducted by Railway Recruitment Board last year. A record 54 lakh candidates had applied for over 18,000 posts in the 9 Non Technical Popular Categories. Considering the large number of applicants, the Railway Recruitment Board had decided to conduct a second leg of computer based test to further prune down the list. The Second Stage CBT was conducted in the month of January 2017. Sources had revealed that the result would be declared by end of February. However, it is estimated now that the computation of the 2nd Stage CBT Results might take another month.
