National, 30th June 2023: Russian President Vladimir Putin lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his ‘Make in India’ project has had a genuinely stunning impact on the Indian economy.
Vladimir Putin, speaking at a seminar sponsored by Russia’s Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) in Moscow, cited India as an example of a government encouraging enterprises to design, produce, and assemble products locally, according to the Russian television network ‘RT’.
Russian President said, “Our friends in India and our big friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative several years ago. It has had a truly impressive effect on the Indian economy. It would do no harm to emulate what is working well, even if it was not us but our friends who created it.”
Vladimir Putin praised India’s initiative to promote domestic products and brands in Russia, adding that Moscow could “provide support tools to help our companies market their products more efficiently.”
He praised India’s initiative to construct an effective paradigm for developing domestic manufacturing capabilities and attracting foreign investors.
Putin stressed the importance of “making our products more convenient and functional, with a modern look and properties.” According to RT, he believes that industrial and product design should become a significant resource for the development of home company.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the ‘Make in India’ initiative intends to integrate India into the global supply chain. It is about enabling Indian businesses to thrive in a globalised workplace.
To that end, the Indian government has implemented a slew of policies aimed at dramatically improving the ease of doing business.
