Dausa, 11th June 2023: Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot addressed a rally in the Dausa region in Rajasthan that marked his father’s death anniversary.
The move comes amid speculations of him starting a new party. He claimed to be following his father’s legacy and that there was a need to end corruption in Rajasthan.
Amid conjecture, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi conducted marathon talks with Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot last week. According to the party, Gehlot and Pilot have decided to run unopposed in the next assembly elections and have left all concerns to be settled by the party’s high command.
Pilot led a five-day Padayatra from Ajmer to Jaipur, requesting that the Gehlot government investigate allegations of corruption during Vasundhara Raje’s tenure as chief minister.
Pilot made three demands at the end of the yatra wanting action against alleged corruption during the Raje administration, reconstruction of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission
And compensation for the young harmed by the exam paper leak.
The tussle between Gehlot and Pilot has been going on for some time since Congress formed the state’s government in 2018. In 2020, Pilot led a revolt against the Gehlot government, removing him from the posts of the party’s state unit president and deputy chief minister.
