Sale of liquor to be prohibited in UP on March 10

March 9, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh excise department on Wednesday announced that the sale and any operations of liquor will be banned in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (March 10) in view of counting of votes for the Assembly Elections result.

“In view of vote counting of Uttar Pradesh election 2022 on March 10 (Thursday), sale & operations of liquor prohibited in the state for the entire day, tomorrow. Action to be taken in case of violation,” stated the excise department of Uttar Pradesh ahead of state assembly polls results day.

As per the Excise Department announcement, those who will be found in violation of the code will be eligible for strict actions.

Meanwhile, Prashant Kumar, UP ADG (Law & Order) informed ANI, “For counting day (March 10), about 70,000 civil police workers, 245 company – paramilitary forces and 69 company PSE have been deployed. Action will be taken against those disturbing peace…deployment in sensitive areas pockets too.”
