Sand mafia return to district after brief lull
Even as the national uproar surrounding IAS officer Durga Sakthi Nagpal has died down, the sand mafia has once again become active in Gautam Budh Nagar district. Illegal dredgers opened fire at a police party on Thursday night. While the miscreants fled, the surprise raid led to seizure of a dozen vehicles involved in the illegal operation. Cops are yet to make any arrests in the case.
