New Delhi, February 7: Professor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Maharashtra has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi on Monday.
According to Ministry of Education officials, she has been appointed for a period of five years.
Dhulipudi is an alumina of JNU, she pursued her MPhil as well as PhD in International Relations from JNU. She will be the first woman Vice Chancellor of JNU.
Last week M Jagadesh Kumar, former VC of JNU was appointed as Chairman of University Grants Commission.
Kumar held the charge of acting VC at JNU for five years & his term ended last year in December.
