Senior IAS officer surrenders, sent to jail for #Noida plot scam

Allahabad/Ghaziabad: Senior UP IAS officer Rajiv Kumar was sent to judicial custody after he surrendered before a CBI court in Ghaziabad on Monday. He is accused of misusing his position as deputy chief executive officer of Noida Authority in early 90s and the CBI court had sentenced him to three-year jail in 2012. His co-accused, then Noida CEO Neera Yadav, has already surrendered and is lodged in Dasna jail at present.After the two officer were convicted in the 20-year-old case in 2012, they moved the Allahabad high court seeking stay.

The high court, however, upheld the judgment of the CBI court on February 24, 2016. Yadav surrendered on March 14. The court, on March 27, issued a non-bailable warrant against Kumar.
