UN Global Compact Network India along with Shikhar, organisation for social development are partnering to host the 9th National CSR Summit in India on the issue of “Gender Equal Ecosystem in Entrepreneurship and Skill Development in India:
Role of Corporate Social Responsibility”.

Sharing details of the planned event, the organisers said, “While building on the need for women participation, and their empowerment through entrepreneurship and skill development, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation highlights that only 14 percent of entrepreneurs are women presenting both opportunities and challenges before stakeholders including private sector, government and civil society organizations including academic institutions and training schools.”

It is to address such challenges that the stalwarts of the industry would be coming together to brainstorm and explore ways to find a solution.

India currently has 16 million women entrepreneurs (women owned enterprises), some 20 percent of all enterprises in the country with a need for more such.

Industry professionals, CSR heads, civil society leaders, policy experts and academia will discuss the issues in two dedicated and moderated technical session, which would be held on following topics:

Session 1: Challenges of Gender inclusion in Rural and Urban India: Solutions and Pathways
Session 2: Impact of Digital Dependability in Entrepreneurship and Skill Development: Is there an alternative?

The conference is expected to have presence of over 100 delegates.
