RIVER GANGA WILL REMAIN HOLY AS LONG AS IT IS CLEAN AND IT IS DUTY OF EVERY CITIZEN TO KEEP IT CLEAN – SHRI RAVI SHANkAR 
 
Rishikesh/Delhi/Dehradun May 30, 2017  Shri Ravi Shankar Parsad , Union Minister for communication,Information technology, Law and Justice today visited the Parmarth Niketan on the bank of river Ganga to participate in ongoing Shri RamKatha and discuss ways and means with Pujya Swami Chidanand Sarwati ji to keep holy river Ganga clean.
 
The Union Minister was accompanied by BJP Uttarakhand state President Shri Ajay Bhatt along with State BJP secretary Shri Naresh Bansal.
 
 The Union minister had long discussions with Pujya Swami Chidanand Sarswati ji, who is the founder of Global Interfaith WASH alliance (GIWA)  on River Ganga . Swami chidanand presented him a copy of Ganga  Right Act.
 
Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad While speaking on the occasion said Uttarkhand is land of gods with Maa Ganga, Badrinath, Kedarnath ,Gangotri and Yamnotri people are blessed. The river Ganga will remain holy only w if we keep it clean  and it is duty of every citizen to keep it clean.
 

“ Holy river Ganga ,the source of water for over 50 crore people— is one of the most threatened rivers in the world. Sadly, like River Ganga, many of our nation’s other water sources are now also drying up as they simultaneously turn black with pollution.” Said Pujya Swami Chidanand Sarswati,  co-Founder , Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA) and President Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. 

“Now, times are changing and the Ganga and Yamuna Rivers have been given rights equivalent to a person by a landmark decision of the Uttarakhand High Court. This means hope for millions of people dependent of Holy River Ganga  but there is still much to be done. As our Ganga’s—and our nation’s– waters decline and suffering increases, we know it’s time to do more than talk . “ said Pujya Swami Chidanand ji.
