New Delhi, 17th May 2023: State Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, who have been in Delhi since Monday, met with Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.
Sources confirm that Congress is close to choosing ex-CM Siddaramaiah again owing to the fact that he has the backing of most of the MLAs. The hurdle in the decision is to get DK Shivkumar on board, who has assured that he will not back down from a fight against Siddaramaiah.
Following the decision from central high command, Karnataka MLAs from Indian National Congress are set to convene again to decide who will be the next Karnataka CM.
In the earlier meeting with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was briefed on the views of the newly elected MLAs by the team of observers sent to the state.
