Bengaluru, 20th May 2023: Congress leader Siddaramaiah was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka to begin his second term today.

Karnataka governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, the same place where the leader took oath in 2013.

He was joined by the deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivkumar and the leaders from all over the country.

His first act as the elected representative was to take a jibe at the Centre’s decision to withdraw the Rs. 2000 notes and called the move an attempt by the party to ‘divert attention from their failures.’

8 other Congress leaders also took the oath for their portfolios. The event witnessed presence of several like-minded leaders of the party from across the country, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
