Some Important Facts of IBPS Probationary Officer

IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection PO 2022 examination is conducted by the IBPS to select the eligible candidates for the posts of POs or Probationary Officers in various Indian public sector banks. Every year since 2011, the IBPS Probationary Officer examination has been happening. IBPS offers its services to every public sector bank, like BOB, PNB, RBI, SBI, SIDBI, LIC, NABARD, and different other banks that are steady members of the society of IBPS.

In 2011, IBPS began the CRP or Common Recruitment Process to recruit clerks and officers in the banks of India. It accepts online applications via its official website. IBPS PO examination is conducted at different locations all across India, and this exam is conducted online only. The Prelims examination of IBPS PO 2022 is tentatively planned for 15th Oct, 16th Oct, and 22nd October 2022.

The eligibility criteria for IBPS PO

A candidate must be a graduate – Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a university that the Govt. of India has recognized. Even candidates who have passed from an equivalent university can apply for this exam. Every candidate must possess a valid Degree certificate or mark sheet that would certify his being a graduate. Candidates should also mention the percentage of marks that they have obtained in graduation when they register for the IBPS Bank Probationary Officer exam.

Language proficiency – Candidates must also be proficient (written and verbal) in the State or UT’s official language. Every candidate should be capable of reading, speaking, and writing the language.
Should be computer literate – Candidates must be aware of computer systems, and it is considered mandatory for the job.

The citizenship or nationality of applicants

Candidates who apply for the IBPS Probationary Officer exam must fulfil any one of the criteria mentioned below:

  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must be subject to Nepal or Bhutan.
  • Should be a refugee of Tibet who arrived in India on the 1st of Jan 1962 to settle here for good.
  • PIO or Person of Indian Origin may be migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or the East African nations of Zaire, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, or Malawi to settle in India permanently.

If a candidate belongs to the 2, 3, or 4 categories, then he must possess a certificate of eligibility that the Government of India has issued in his favour.

The interview process for IBPS Probationary Officers

Candidates who become qualified for the Mains examination are required to have a face-to-face interview, and it carries a maximum of 100 marks, and here, the min. Qualifying mark is 40 per cent, and 35 per cent marks are reserved for the PWD, OBC, ST, or SC candidates. Commonly, the interview round for the IBPS PO exam is of 15-20 minutes, where candidates are asked about themselves, current affairs, the banking sector, general awareness, etc.
