Mr. Vijay Goel Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports commended the effort of SportEX Asia which will significantly emphasize on the huge opportunities in Sports sector in the country.

Some of the key speakers at the conference were Mr. Sundar Raman, CEO Reliance Sports, Mr. Raghu Iyer CEO RPG Sports, Mr. Nitin Kukreja CEO Star Sports and Aneesh Madani, Head of Sports Partnerships, India and South East Asia, Twitter. International delegates include dignitaries such as Marco Garces from Pachuca FC and Ms. Liu Chang from Yunyi Investment Group.

Some of the key points of discussion in the conference were:

ü  The significant rise in the Indian Sports Industry with the introduction of leagues such as  ISL, IPL, Pro Kabaddi to name a few

ü  With the increasing awareness of sports sector, government is reaching out to the remote areas in search of local talent to enhance the sports culture in the country

ü  The importance to bring money, aspirational role models and a sense of fairness into the lime light in order to achieve success in sports

ü  Significance of introducing sports in academics at an early level

ü  Integrating sports and  technology to reach out to masses

 

Commenting on this, Mr. Raghvendra Madhav, Chairman SportEX Asia said, “Sports sector today is like what IT sector was 15 years ago. It has a huge potential to generate employment and create heroes in the field of sports. However, the sporting ecosystem is in dearth opportunities.  It needs encouragement from the local entrepreneurs as well. And as we all know that with accountability comes the sense of responsibility, we need responsible individuals who are adept at driving sports and the nation together towards a better tomorrow. ”

SportEX Asia aims to be a unique platform for investment opportunities for corporate entities and HNIs in the sports sector. One of the key objectives of this annual conference is the growing need to encourage the individual sporting assets to thrive in today’s competitive realm. Going forward there is a dire need for capital owners and corporates to see sports as a viable sector for investment.
