SRK awarded with honorary doctorate by La Trobe University in Melbourne
New Delhi: Superstar Shahrukh Khan has been awarded with highest accolade Doctor of Letters (Honoris Casua) by Melbourne based La Trobe University, for his contributions and efforts towards underprivileged children, women’s empowerment through Meer Foundation and his achievements in the Indian entertainment industry.
The student fans had turn out in large numbers and waited patiently to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. They were cheering and shouting actor’s name while the event of honouring him was taking place. Shahrukh acknowledged them with a sweet gesture by bowing his cap a little and smiling at the students gathered to witness the proceedings.

Khan had reached Australia yesterday along with other Bollywood stars including Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Tabu and others to kick-start the celebrations of the 10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).
The actor had earlier received honorary doctorate from The University of Law in Philanthropy in London.
