New Delhi: SSC exam aspirants have been protesting for over two months against the irregularities and corruption in the conduct of SSC examinations and demanding an independent and time- bound probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in all recruitment exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
March 31, the call for the ‘Yuva Halla Bol’ march on Parliament Street was given after protesters held a sit-in for 18 days in front of the SSC headquarters in New Delhi. It was supposed to be a show of strength and unity by candidates complaining of question paper leaks, manipulation of results and unfair selection by the Staff Selection Commission but Yuva Halla Bol Rally was hijacked by some antisocial elements.
On Wednesday, Ten News Caught with some SSC Protesters, who were forcefully removed from Rajghat where they were peacefully demanding exam reforms & corruption-free fair selection process.
Speaking to Ten News Correspondent, SSC protesters said, “Why is the government so afraid of youth raising the issue of unemployment? Why is the police not letting SSC students sit for “Anshan” at Rajghat even after having permission? We feel it’s because the govt has no answers to the genuine demands of SSC students. It because the govt has no clue or will to address the crisis of unemployment.”
“It is an established fact that whenever youth has stood for the right, might has been found wanting. Will the Government cede its authoritarian attitude and yield to the fair demand of youth of the country? Why not order a fair CBI inquiry in SSC exam scam,” added SSC Students.
Talking about their demands, students said, “We’ve been demanding an independent and time-bound CBI investigation in the conduct of all SSC examinations. Even after protesting for over a month, the government has not agreed to our genuine demands. The inaction and insensitivity clearly proves that this government is anti youth. If the government cannot listen to the genuine demands of protesting students, the minister of DoPT should resign. Until the demands of SSC students are met, we will continue this movement with energy & resolve.”
