SSC Scam: Outsourcing prime reason behind SSC debacle says eminent lawyer Prashant Bhushan

New Delhi: The alleged Staff Selection Commission (SSC) scam case has took a fresh turn, as the Supreme Court has sought reply from the government within six months while hearing a PIL, filed by the Supreme Court’s senior advocate Prashant Bhushan over the alleged scam recently.

As the issue triggered nation-wide controversy, well-know Supreme Court advocate and social activist, Prashant Bhushan has knocked SC’s door and filed a PIL, demanding investigation in the alleged scam.

Speaking over the issue, Prashant Bhushan told Ten News, “On the direction of SC, I have wrote letter of the secretary of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) recently and pointed out that this irregularities and corruption prevailing in not only exams conducted by the SSC by almost every exams which is being conducted online.”

“The major reason of corruption in these exams is outsourcing. SSC has started outsourcing with sify and sify further outsources number of examination centres. And if sify and other outsourcing exam organizers allowing students to cheat then they will cheat and corruption will be happen.” He added.

Prashant Bhushan in the letter to DoPT suggested that such exams should be conducted by some public authorities and proper safeguard should be made to ensure the authenticity of these exams.”

Replying to the question of upcoming moves in this case, he said, “We are waiting for the response of DoPT, which have to reply within 6 weeks and then SC will review and take follow up action.”
