Sugar drops on reduced demand

Mumbai, Jun 23 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugar dropped further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid ample supply positions.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10/13 per quintal to Rs 3,572/3,652 from Wednesday’s closing level of Rs 3,582/3,665.

Medium sugar (M-30) also declined by Rs 24/6 per quintal to Rs 3,632/3,796 as compared to Rs 3,656/3,802 yesterday.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,572/3,652 (Rs 3,582/3,665).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,632/3,796 (Rs 3,656/3,802).
