Mumbai(India), 13/08/23: Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 has maintained its grip at the box office, earning a huge Rs 43 crore nett on its second day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, after a thundering opening of Rs 40.10 crore on its opening day. This brings the film’s total domestic revenue to Rs 83.10 crore, which is enormous for a Hindi Bollywood film.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film might make Rs 175 crore in just five days and could shortly reach the Rs 300 crore club. According to the publication, the three-day launch weekend might be worth Rs 125 crore.
The film has already become the highest grossing film for its star actor, Sunny Deol, who has worked in the profession since the 1980s.
Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was the only movie that had a higher opening day than Gadar 2 in 2023, earning Rs 57 crore on the first day.
Gadar 2 debuted opposite Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, which grossed barely Rs 10.26 crore on its first day. However, with positive reviews, OMG 2 could become a challenger for Gadar 2 in the near future.
Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma and starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, is the sequel to the 2001 success. The film is set in the 1970s and follows Sunny’s Tara Singh as he travels to Pakistan to try to save his kid from the Pakistani army.
