Sunshine Society Honours 50 Young Achievers at Annual Felicitation Ceremony

Noida, 17 July: Sunshine Society, a voluntary organization founded in 2013 by eleven committed women and now boasts of a team , organized its Annual Felicitation Ceremony today to celebrate the academic achievements of children from economically weaker sections of society. The event recognised the hard work and determination of first-generation learners who have excelled despite challenging circumstances. This year, nearly 50 students from UKG to Class XII were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance as well as for qualities such as discipline, commitment, growth, and perseverance. The ceremony reaffirmed Sunshine Society’s belief that education is the most powerful instrument for social transformation. A highlight of the event was the continuation of the Kanak Rawat–Col. Subhash Chandra Rawat Memorial Scholarship, instituted in 2024 by Mrs. Sangeeta Shrivastava in loving memory of her parents, Mrs. Kanak Rawat and Col.

Subhash Chandra Rawat. The scholarship honours meritorious students of Classes X and XII from both the UP Board and CBSE Board, encouraging them to pursue excellence in academics. The Society also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Shri V. P. Gupta, Executive Member of Sunshine Society, whose vision and guidance have been instrumental in establishing and nurturing the Society’s learning centres in Sectors 50 and 93. His unwavering commitment continues to inspire volunteers, teachers, and students alike. Another significant initiative announced this year was the institution of additional scholarships by Mrs. Ranju Khurana and her friends, who have supported Sunshine Society since its inception. The new awards recognise students under the categories “Sambal” (Support), “Nishtha” (Commitment), and “Pragati” (Growth), celebrating not only academic excellence but also resilience, dedication, and all-round development. Speaking on the occasion, the members and teachers reaffirmed their commitment to empowering children through education and expressed gratitude to donors, volunteers, teachers, parents, and well-wishers whose continued support has enabled Sunshine Society to transform young lives over the past thirteen years.
