Supporting Modi 3.0 government in industry growth IESA to unveil White Paper at IESW 2024

New Delhi, India — June 13, 2024: In its endeavor to support the Modi 3.0 government in pushing India’s Net Zero Goal and Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, leading industry body India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) is going to unveil a White Paper at India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2024. The recommendations in the white paper aim to address the key Policy and Regulatory Challenges for EV, Clean Tech, Green Hydrogen, and Battery Storage and the action required to make India a global Clean tech hub. The white paper will be presented to over seven Central Govt. Ministries and 200+ global energy leaders from 50+ countries participating at IESW 2024.

Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President, IESA and Customized Energy Solutions, India said, “IESW is crowned as one of the most influential Clean Energy events in the world. As India embarks on a clean energy journey with the Modi 3.0 government, our white paper aims to suggest the immediate steps required to achieve the green energy transition vision. Our government partnerships at IESW aim to facilitate smooth dialogue between the industry and various government departments pushing EV, Clean Tech, Green Hydrogen, and Battery Storage ecosystems in the country. The support from central ministries and government departments including the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Govt. of India along with the Central Electricity Authority of India will address major policy and regulatory challenges that various industries are facing today.”

Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt of India will join the Inauguration session of the Stationary Storage Day at IESW 2024 and will focus on energy storage requirements for modernizing the Indian electricity grid and also the need of energy storage to address India’s ambitious renewable target. Shri Dinesh Jagdale Joint Secretary MNRE, is also agreed to visit and address the IESW conference and Expo and interact with Indian and Global energy storage players including Pumped hydro and BES technology providers. Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power and Shri Jishnu Barua, Chairperson, Central Electricity Regulatory Authority (CERC) will join various panels to share government policies to support energy storage adoptions in India.

Dr. Hanif Qureshi, IPS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) will address the gathering on Day 1 of the event on India EV Day as part of IESW and will share the need of Advanced battery storage to accelerate India’s EV growth journey. Shri Vijay Mittal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) will also join the IESW 2024 and will interact with all ACC-Batteries (Advanced Cell chemistries) manufacturers.

The event will also witness the senior officials from the Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Ministry of Science & Technology (MST), Ministry of Commerce & Industries, NITI Ayyog and others.

Officials from various state nodal agencies, Association of Renewable Energy Agencies of States (AREAS) members, state DISCOMS, and Transport agencies confirmed to participate in the event.

IESW 2024, an International Conference & Expo is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from July 1-5, 2024, and promises to be a ground-breaking event laden with networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, world-class gatherings, and fascinating insights into the future of Energy Storage and Clean Energy Transformation.
